Mrs. Martin graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Martin has received post-graduate training in the area of juvenile forensic evaluations and sex offender treatment.
Mrs. Martin worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations including; acute care psychiatric hospitals, adolescent girls group homes, and residential placements for chemically dependent adults. She has experience providing transitional housing for the homeless, day treatment for the chronically mentally ill, as well as outpatient and group therapy for the military. Her background includes a focus on adolescent and adult dually diagnosed populations.
Mrs. Martin began working for National Counseling Group, Inc. (NCG) in 2001. Her hard work and commitment to the company have allowed her to rise quickly in the expanding business. Mrs. Martin treats adolescent, young adult, adult, and geriatric clients struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health challenges. She facilitates groups, conducts substance abuse and mental health evaluations, court evaluations, and provides substance abuse education seminars to families and professionals in the community. She also directs treatment for the Alcohol and Safety Action Program (ASAP). In a coordinated effort to provide efficient and effective treatment to those with legal charges and sentenced into ASAP, Mrs. Martin evaluates and provides specific individual and group therapy to this population.
In addition to clinical services, Mrs. Martin has assisted the community as the private provider representative for the Manassas City Family Assessment and Services Team (FAST) and the Fairfax County Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT). She enjoys speaking engagements on an assortment of mental health and substance abuse topics.
Mrs. Martin is invested in education regarding the risks of substance abuse and the process of recovery. Mrs. Martin's commitment to preserving the family unit helps her to facilitate effective change in families and individuals. She is available in the Annandale office.
